Airport:
Leaving my family was really hard especially because I have never been over seas before. The first flight was easy, only about 2 and a half hours long. Our second was 12 hours but it was the most fun, we got to watch movies, eat delicious meals and sleep! The last flight was 6 hours and to me it felt like the longest. I couldn't fall asleep because I would usually be waking up, but my body was so tired! Going over the ocean was beautiful, it seemed like it never ended.
Tattoo Guest Hotel:
Don't worry we will NOT be getting tattoo's. We arrived at the guest house around 1 am. My room-mates are Anna and Camryn. The rooms are so nice, the beds are huge and there is an air conditioner! Which in Cambodia is a necessity! Lets just say as soon as I unpacked and laid down...I was out!
Day 1:
We woke up early, I only got about 5 hours of sleep. The first word that begins S that affected me was the Smell. In Cambodia there are a lot of different smells. Some are good and some are bad. The bad smells of the city didn't seem to affect anyone else but I was. Around the time we went to the Genocide Museum I had a mi-grain. But Jana told me to drink water and sit down, so soon it went away. After the Museum we went to the Killing Fields, it was a lot to handle. Seeing all the bones and clothing and pictures of all the thousands of people that were killed. But then we got to see the children at the orphanage! They greeted us with big hugs and hellos! In less than an hour I have fallen in absolute LOVE with all of them! And now for the second S... Sparkles! Most of the children got little sparkles and were decorating our faces with them! I cannot and I don't want to picture the day when we have to say good-bye to these beautiful children who have now become a piece in my heart.
Day 2:
For the third S... the Streets. There are NO rules when it comes to the streets. Horns are buzzing people are walking in the middle of cars... it is a thrill! The rest of the day we spent with the children and even though it was hot, I had the most fun I have ever had in my life! Last I want to say... I have a new best friend his name its Niront, he is 13 but way smaller that I. He is one of the funniest children I have ever met! I consider him my brother :)
Lia suhn hao-y (good-bye)
